Structural Density
High-density textile strand represents a premium category of linen yarn engineered for high-strength cloth applications. Producers select compact spun yarn to minimize fabric hairiness and maximize tensile strength during high-speed loom operation. This structural variation utilizes pneumatic suction to condense the fibre bundle prior to the insertion of twist.
Its compact nature limits the presence of protruding fibre ends in the final linen fabric.
Spinning Mechanism
Mechanical modification of the traditional ring-spinning frame enables the production of this material. In this process, the drafted fibre strand passes over a suction slot on a perforated cylinder or apron immediately before it leaves the nip of the delivery rollers. This suction forces the loose fibres together into a dense stream so that the subsequent twisting action captures almost every fibre into the core.
Traditional drafting systems allow the outer fibres to spread out and escape the twisting triangle, whereas the pneumatic compression system eliminates this triangle and binds the strand tightly together. The resulting compact spun yarn exhibits an extremely smooth surface and superior structural integrity.
Performance Metric
Quality control laboratories test the strand for hairiness and tensile force before packing. Low hairiness numbers prevent friction during the interlacing process. This measurement ensures the yarn survives high tension on rapier looms.
