Financial Adjustment
Financial documents issued by a buyer to a supplier account for the shortfall between the promised material weight and the actual usable weight received. A yield deficit debit note is the primary mechanism for recovering costs when a shipment of flax contains excessive moisture or impurities. This document reconciles the final payment with the actual value of the fibre.
Claim Foundation
Verification of the weight occurs at the spinning mill under the supervision of independent inspectors or internal quality teams. When the inspection proves that the non-fibre content exceeds the contract limits, the buyer prepares a yield deficit debit note to deduct the value of the missing fibre from the invoice. This prevents the mill from paying for waste products.
The calculation is based on the contract price per kilogram. It subtracts the weight of excess trash and moisture from the total delivered weight. This adjustment ensures the final price reflects the true commercial value of the fibre.
Settlement Boundary
Acceptance of this claim by the supplier is required to finalize the accounts for the transaction. A yield deficit debit note must be supported by weighbridge tickets and laboratory reports to be valid under international trade rules. Once the credit is applied, the transaction is closed.
