High-Count Yarn
Linen threads with very high metric numbers are designed specifically to withstand the high tensile stresses of the weaving loom. In premium textile manufacturing, ultrafine warp yarn represents the highest quality grade of linen thread, spun from the finest combed flax. The density and twist of this yarn are recorded on the shipment quality certificate to guarantee suitability for lightweight apparel fabrics.
Tensile Tolerance
Spinning fine counts of linen requires exceptional fiber selection, as any small slub or thin spot will cause a warp break during weaving. Wet spinning is used to produce the ultrafine warp yarn because the moisture helps to soften the pectins and allows the fibres to align more smoothly. This process results in a yarn with a highly uniform cross-section that can run on high-speed projectile looms without excessive friction.
To protect these delicate yarns during weaving, the mill applies a sizing agent that increases their temporary abrasion resistance. The sizing recipe and application speed are carefully logged on the loom setup sheet.
Woven Grade
Finished lightweight linen fabrics made from these yarns are highly valued in export markets for their breathability and strength. Failure to maintain uniform tension during the warping stage results in fabric defects that lead to downgrading of the roll. Acceptance of the fabric by international buyers depends on these uniformity scores.
