Certification Standard
International criteria for the processing of textiles made from organically grown flax fibres ensure ecological and social responsibility throughout the manufacturing chain. The gots organic linen identifies cloth that meets a minimum threshold of ninety-five percent certified organic content. This designation covers every step from the retting of the flax to the final labelling of the woven material.
Traceability Requirement
Transaction certificates must accompany every batch of raw fibre as it moves from the field to the spinning mill. These documents prove that no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers were used during the cultivation of the plant. Inside the factory, the organic material must be physically separated from conventional flax to prevent cross-contamination.
Workers use dedicated machinery or perform a deep clean of the equipment before processing the certified lot. Dyes and auxiliary chemicals are screened against a list of approved substances that exclude heavy metals or toxic carriers. The mill undergoes annual audits to verify that its wastewater treatment and labor practices comply with the global standard.
Production Constraint
Failure to maintain the chain of custody results in the loss of the certification for the entire batch. The label cannot be applied if any link in the supply chain is unverified.
