Pneumatic Insertion Failure
Insertion interruption in pneumatically driven yarn interlacing machinery occurs when yarn irregularities disrupt the continuous flow of the filling yarn. An air jet stoppage during the manufacture of fine linen fabric typically arises from slubs or thick places that cannot withstand the high velocity air stream. The machine halts automatically to prevent a major cloth fault and holds the yarn in place.
This event is recorded in the daily loom efficiency log. A high frequency of these events indicates poor yarn preparation, specifically inadequate clearing during the winding stage.
Nozzle Pressure Drop
Airflow variation in the main nozzle or the relay nozzles directly influences the yarn path. When the nozzle pressure drops below the threshold required to propel the linen thread, the tip of the yarn fails to reach the receiving side of the machine within the specified timing window. Sensor detection immediately triggers the brake mechanism.
Cloth Production Downtime
Operational downtime accumulates rapidly when the frequency of such halts increases. Every stoppage requires manual intervention by the operator to clear the yarn path and restart the machine. In high-density linen cloth production, frequent halts lower the overall equipment effectiveness of the department and can leave horizontal line defects in the greige fabric.
