Performance Ratio
Performance ratio of the actual length of fabric produced during a shift to the theoretical maximum length possible if the machine ran without stopping. Calculating weaver efficiency helps the mill management evaluate the effectiveness of labor and the quality of the warp preparation. The calculation accounts for all stops including those for repair and beam changes.
Consistent Performance
Consistent performance depends on the skill of the operator and the mechanical reliability of the loom. When a weaver efficiency score falls below eighty percent, supervisors investigate the cause, which might be a poorly prepared warp or a faulty motor. High scores indicate a well-managed floor where operators are proactive in managing their assigned machines.
This metric is the most direct way to measure the productivity of a production hall.
Financial Incentive
Financial incentives for workers often depend on maintaining a high level of performance throughout the month. A high weaver efficiency reduces the per-unit cost of the fabric and increases the overall throughput of the mill. Management uses this data to plan future capacity and to set realistic delivery dates for international buyers.
Because labor is a major cost in linen production, the ratio remains a focus of daily reporting.
