Actuation Degree
Electronic control parameters govern the exact opening and closing angular positions of pneumatic valves relative to the loom main shaft rotation. In high-speed air-jet processing of linen yarn, precisely calibrated solenoid valve timing regulates compressed air delivery to main and relay nozzles during weft insertion. Microprocessor controller screens display pulse start degrees, duration angles, valve delay factors and pressure settings for each nozzle group.
Loom setup files record these timing settings for specific yarn counts and fabric widths.
Impulse Sync
Air-jet looms rely on relay nozzle banks firing in overlapping sequence across the reed width to carry the weft tip forward. Opening solenoid valves too early wastes compressed air, whereas delayed opening starves the weft yarn of velocity, causing buckled picks or short filling stops. Because linen yarns vary in linear density along their length, precise valve timing maintains uniform air pressure around the yarn package throughout its passage across the warp sheet.
Optimizing pulse duration minimizes compressed air consumption while preventing yarn relaxation and tail loops.
Controller Calibration
Loom controller diagnostic logs record valve actuation accuracy and electrical response times during continuous mill operation. Shift technicians recalibrate solenoid firing angles when switching yarn lots or altering loom operational speeds. Maintenance certificates log valve response times and driver board calibrations to ensure reliable weft insertion across all loom frames in the mill.
