Selection Procedure
Production management procedures group yarn packages with identical dye affinity and strength profiles to avoid banding in the woven cloth. Implementing a strict lot matching protocol ensures that only yarn spun from the same flax harvest and processing batch is loaded onto a single loom. This step is necessary because natural flax fibers exhibit high variability depending on soil and retting conditions.
Dyeing Consistency
Woven linen is highly sensitive to variations in yarn composition which can cause uneven color uptake. Under the lot matching protocol, the mill’s lab tests yarn samples from different spinning runs for absorption and strength. Packages that fail to match the baseline criteria of the target lot are excluded and redirected to less sensitive, bleached-white orders.
This selectivity prevents the appearance of visible lines in piece-dyed fabrics.
Batch Release
Warehouse logs track the origin and movement of yarn lots from the spinning frames to the weaving preparation area. When the lot matching protocol verifies a successful match, the batch release document is signed by the quality supervisor. This certificate accompanies the yarn to the creel and is recorded in the weaving mill’s tracking database.
By maintaining this system, the mill ensures that the finished linen fabric meets the highest aesthetic standards required by premium fashion brands. This careful organization reduces fabric rejection rates during final inspection on the grading tables.
