Warp Separation Mechanism
Metal separators mounted on the dry section of sizing machines divide the warp sheet into individual layers to prevent the yarn from sticking together. The lease split rod is placed after the drying section, where it physically breaks the dried sizing film between adjacent warp ends. This component ensures that the warp yarns can be wound onto the loom beam without causing yarn breaks or entanglement.
Sizing Operation Function
Warp sheets are coated with sizing agents that can glue the yarns together as they dry on the heated cylinders. As the sheet moves toward the winding head, it passes through a series of these horizontal chrome-plated rods, each positioned to separate specific yarn layers. The rods must be highly polished and free of scratches to prevent damaging the delicate flax fibers, which are prone to abrasion.
By dividing the sheet into progressively smaller groups of ends, this process ensures that every individual yarn is free to move during the subsequent weaving operation.
Warp Quality Influence
Failure to separate the warp ends cleanly results in high friction and yarn breakages on the loom. When yarns remain glued together, they cannot form a clean shed during weaving, which leads to machine stoppages and fabric defects.
