Weaver Support
Automated detection of broken or missing weft yarns allows a loom to stop immediately before a defect is woven into the fabric. Modern high-speed pick finding systems reposition the weaving machine to the exact point where the error occurred. This technology is necessary for producing high-quality linen without visible gaps or double picks.
It operates continuously during the operation of rapier and air-jet looms.
Defect Correction
Mechanical arms or electronic sensors identify the position of the shuttle or projectile to ensure the weft is properly inserted. When a yarn breaks, high-speed pick finding enables the weaver to remove the faulty thread and restart the machine without losing the pattern alignment. This precision prevents the creation of set marks which are often seen as flaws in fine flax cloth.
The system reduces the time spent on manual adjustments by the operator and ensures the cloth remains within the acceptable grade for export.
Production Speed
Integrating this capability into the mill equipment increases the overall yield of high-grade fabric. Reliable high-speed pick finding is especially important when working with linen yarns which have low elasticity and can snap under tension. The reliability of the fabric structure is maintained even at peak production volumes.
Proper calibration of the sensors ensures that the system does not trigger false stops during a shift.
