Production Efficiency
Textile manufacturing analysis employs a ratio to track the frequency of thread ruptures during the spinning or winding processes. Within linen spinning mills, yarn end-breakage rate defines the number of thread breaks per thousand spindle hours. This metric is a primary measure of the spinability of the processed flax fibre.
It is calculated by dividing the total number of manual interventions by the operating time of the spinning frame.
Spinning Tension
Machine productivity is directly determined by the frequency of these breakages. High yarn end-breakage rate requires operators to spend more time piecing together broken ends, which increases labor costs and decreases the overall output of the spinning room. This situation also introduces more knots into the finished yarn packages.
Quality Audit
Yarn consistency and buyer acceptance are dependent on maintaining a low break rate. The quality control department uses the yarn end-breakage rate to assess the performance of each roving lot before it is released for high-speed winding. If the rate exceeds the established threshold, the batch is flagged for investigation and the spinning parameters are adjusted.
This data is compiled into a monthly quality report that is used to evaluate the efficiency of the raw material prep area.
