Warp Force Measurement
Continuous force measurement represents the standard method for maintaining tension consistency during linen weaving operations. A backrest roller load sensor registers the physical pressure exerted by warp yarns as they pass over the feed roller toward the harnesses. This measurement determines the rate at which yarn is let off from the warp beam.
In Chinese mills processing long-line flax, this sensor monitors the delicate resistance of the yarn sheet to prevent thread breakage during high-speed insertion.
Electronic Letoff Control
Mechanical load conversion translates the downward warp pressure into an electrical signal that drives the electronic let-off motor. When the backrest roller load sensor detects a drop in force below the preset yarn parameter, the motor increases beam rotation to feed more yarn. Flax yarn has low elasticity compared to cotton, requiring a quick response from this control loop to prevent tight picks.
The sensitivity of the strain gauges inside the housing ensures that even minor variations are corrected before they cause defects.
Tension Calibration Threshold
Weaving efficiency depends on precise initial calibration against a static deadweight. Without correct zeroing, the backrest roller load sensor produces incorrect data that leads to uneven cloth density. Operational wear requires weekly calibration checks.
