Compliance Evaluation
Independent evaluation programs assess the environmental compliance and production quality of textile manufacturing facilities. An annual third party mill audit verifies that the spinning or weaving facility meets the technical and social standards of global buyers. This evaluation checks wastewater treatment, chemical storage, labor standards and machine maintenance schedules.
Onsite Inspection
Auditors from international certification bodies inspect the production floor and warehouse facilities. During the third party mill audit, these specialists review processing logs and raw material origin records. This inspection confirms that the mill processes certified organic flax separately from conventional flax to prevent cross-contamination.
The audit team also gathers samples of finished fabric for independent laboratory testing.
Vendor Authorization
Commercial agreements between global brands and Chinese textile mills depend on successful audit outcomes. When the third party mill audit reports no major non-compliances, the facility is granted a certificate of compliance for the upcoming year. This certificate allows the mill to bid on contracts for major international fashion houses.
The final audit document is registered in the buyer’s procurement database to authorize production runs and export shipments. Achieving this certification provides the mill with a competitive advantage in the global market for certified sustainable apparel.
