Light Intensity
The total amount of luminous flux falling on a unit area of a workspace determines the visibility of fine defects during the final stages of textile manufacturing. In the finishing mill, surface illuminance must be maintained at a high level over the inspection tables where finished linen cloth is evaluated. This parameter is recorded in the plant’s environmental control log.
While the mill’s minimum standard for coarse flax weaving is fifteen hundred lux, the buyer’s criteria for fine linen apparel demands two thousand lux.
Quality Inspection
Visual monitoring under specific light conditions prevents defective fabric from leaving the factory. Technicians rely on high light intensity to identify broken warp threads, color shading across the width, and oil stains from the loom. If the light level drops below the set point, inspectors may overlook small flaws that would later cause the buyer to reject the entire shipment.
This monitoring process is verified at the start of every shift and is recorded on the loom efficiency chart.
Compliance Document
Verification of the lighting environment is required for factory certification. A calibrated lux meter is used to measure the light level across the entire length of the perch. The resulting values are recorded on the shift inspection log.
This document is kept on file for two years to satisfy buyer compliance audits.
