Batch Traceability
Tracking system used to associate individual yarn cones with their specific production batch. Each label in the creel package identification sequence contains the spinning lot number, the yarn count and the operator code. Such data prevents the mixing of different fibre harvests within a single warp.
When a cone is mounted onto the creel frame, the worker verifies that the identification matches the master weave sheet. Errors in this check lead to visible stripes in the finished linen fabric.
Supply Integrity
Consistency across thousands of yarn packages is necessary for uniform fabric appearance. The creel package identification allows the mill to isolate specific cones if a strength failure occurs during warping. If the yarn tension fluctuates, the technician traces the package back to the specific spinning frame and spindle.
This localized monitoring reduces the volume of rejected material across the whole weaving shed.
Inventory Management
Scanning the barcodes on the packages provides a real-time update of the available yarn stocks. Since linen yarn is sensitive to ambient humidity, the creel package identification often includes the date of winding to ensure that older stock is used first. This chronological rotation maintains the moisture balance of the yarn and prevents the formation of static during the weaving process which would otherwise cause frequent machine stoppages.
Precise identification is the only way to manage a large-scale spinning inventory.
