Machine Recovery
Spinners use automated suction systems on ring frames to collect loose fibres when a yarn breaks during processing. In the spinning department, the thread break pneumafil draws the broken yarn strand into a collection chamber to prevent it from wrapping around the draft rollers. This suction system keeps the spinning frame clean and running during yarn breakages.
Collection Action
Air currents pull the broken yarn immediately into a nozzle located right below the delivery rollers on the spinning frame. This thread break pneumafil collects these loose fibres before they can tangle with neighbouring yarns on the machine. If the suction is too weak, the broken yarn will wrap around the rubber rollers, which can damage the machine and halt production.
The operator monitors these suction nozzles to clear any blockages that occur. This action reduces the amount of manual cleaning required during a shift.
Material Recycling
Collected waste fibres are returned to the blending department to be mixed with raw flax for coarser yarn batches. The mill tracks the weight of this collected waste to measure spinning line efficiency. Low waste weights show that the spinning frames are set up correctly.
This collection ensures that high-quality fibre is not wasted.
