Logistical Receipt
Material receipt documents record the gross and net weights of fiber shipments arriving at a processing plant. The mill gate weighbridge ticket provides the primary physical proof of the raw flax mass delivered by a supplier. This document initiates the material tracking process and is used to reconcile invoice quantities with actual received weights.
Receipt Auditing
Weighbridge operation requires the loaded delivery truck to be weighed on a calibrated scale upon entering the mill gate. A mill gate weighbridge ticket is printed with the gross weight, and then the empty truck is weighed again after unloading to determine the tare. Subtracting the tare from the gross weight yields the net weight of the flax bales.
This net figure is compared directly with the supplier packing list and the purchase contract. Inconsistencies of more than two percent trigger a formal moisture and trash check before payment is approved.
Operational Limit
Scope limitations of this receipt document relate to the quality and moisture content of the flax. Although a mill gate weighbridge ticket registers the precise mass delivered, it does not measure the wetness of the fibers or the percentage of trapped soil. Mills must compile separate laboratory test reports to adjust the raw tonnage to a dry fiber basis.
