Hardware Interface
Network gateways act as the primary collection point for raw sensor data originating from flax humidity sensors or mechanical stress monitors located on spinning frames. These mqtt edge nodes gather telemetry from localized plant machinery and format the information for transmission to a centralized broker. Data packets undergo conversion from proprietary mill protocols into a standardized asynchronous messaging format before exiting the local processing environment.
Transmission failure at this stage prevents the logging of moisture metrics required for the fibre quality assurance report.
Message Logic
Processing occurs when data travels from the spinner intake area toward the master control system. Each device evaluates the incoming signal against specific threshold values set for flax moisture retention during the combing stage. Outliers trigger an immediate alert sequence to the mill supervisor without waiting for the next scheduled batch upload.
Stability of the connection depends on the bandwidth availability within the production floor network. Performance variance in these units produces gaps in the fibre humidity records that prevent accurate adjustment of the spinning tension.
System Boundary
Separation exists between the local control domain and the external export logistics platform. The nodes terminate their functional responsibility once the message leaves the internal mill environment and enters the company wide data repository. Integrity of the digital audit trail stops at the gateway output port because subsequent storage servers assume the task of archival.
Any degradation in the physical link between the node and the plant switch limits the scope of traceability for the final linen fabric lot. Reliance on these units defines the limit of data granularity for all downstream weaving processes.
